The requirements life cycle:
- begins with the representation of a business need as a requirement,
- continues through the development of a solution, and
- ends when a solution and the requirements that represent it are retired
The core concept model in Requirement Life Cycle Management layouts 6 points:
- Change: Adapting to the ever-changing needs
- Need: Problem for which the solution is required.
- Solution: a specific way of satisfying one or more needs in a context.
- Stakeholder: Anyone who is affected by the problem and the solution.
- Value: How/What the solution is making a difference.
- Context: the circumstances that influence, are influenced by, and provide an understanding of the change.
Within Requirement Life Cycle Management, there is a difference between the methodologies followed to execute the process and the lifecycle process.
The Requirement Life Cycle Management knowledge areas include:
- Trace Requirements: analyzes and maintains the relationships between requirements, designs, solution components, and other work products for impact analysis, coverage, and allocation.
- Maintain Requirements: ensures that requirements and designs are accurate and current throughout the life cycle and facilitates reuse where appropriate.
- Prioritize Requirements: analyze and rank the value, urgency, and risks associated with particular requirements and designs to ensure that analysis and/or delivery work is done on the most important ones at any given time.
- Assess Requirements Changes: Analyze the implications of any changes that may be proposed in the requirements at any given stage of the project.
- Approve Requirements: Obtain agreement and approvals on the requirements and designs for business analysis to continue and seamless implementation of the solution.
As a business analyst at IG, we need to change to compete with the market competition to help the company providing a various of products. Also, when we adapt the change, we obviously have the problems and we need to find the solution to solve the problem. In order to make a good solution, we need to analyze carefully based on the data and have to find a backup solution to make the solution more efficiently. So basically, as a Business Analyst, we need to follow the Requirement Life Cycle to make the solution more efficient, and also help the company improving.
ReplyDeleteEvery Business analyst follows the Requirement life cycle management in order to manage and maintain requirements and design information from inception to retirement. This begins with needs as a requirements. If I talk about the Business Analyst in IG Wealth, they first gather the information about their needs as requirements and then work on them. They also make change in their existing investment plans to make better one. Same like requirement life cycle management, Business analyst in IG trace, maintain, prioritize, assess and then approve their requirements.
